The RPD-41096 form is used for New Mexico residents who seek an extension of the filing deadline for their state income tax returns. Successfully filing the RPD-41096 automatically allows New Mexico residents a six month extension to file their PIT-1 state income tax returns.

New Mexico Allocation of Non-Resident Employee Income
Form RPD-41248 must be used by qualified nonresident employees who work within 20 miles of the Mexican border. In order to be eligible, you must meet the following requirements: • You must work at a manufacturing plant. • The location of the manufacturing plant must be within 20 miles of the Mexican border. • You must submit NM Form RPD-41248 to the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department for acceptance. • You must attach the schedules that were used to complete page 2 of the RPD-41248 form.
